Day 35 – Re-evaluating my relationship with money: In itself, it is not my supply.

As I wind down the last run through of these 10 affirmations before reaching my 40-day straight goal, I particularly wanted to flesh out my thoughts on this particular one, as my relationship with money has evolved tremendously over the years. For one, I’ve always been someone that’s had money come to me easily. Perhaps not as much money as I’ve wanted, but nonetheless, money is always manifesting itself within my life. However, I find that the more I follow my truth, and only do the things I want to do and that I’m meant to do, money tends to consistently manifest itself rather than only arrive in spurts. The truth is that I have a fear of being broke, so I often do things that I know I’m not meant to be doing as a means to “get by,” which really only ends up serving as a distraction in the end.

I bought an obsidian egg today, and the obsidian stone is known for making us face our truths and clear any negative energy from within and around us. I know my truths, but I also need encouragement and discipline to stick to actualizing them, even when it feels challenging. That is what I hope to actualize and work on from now on. I’m praying for strength, and can feel encouragement all around me in Alto Paraiso. I’m right where I need to be.

Day 34 – The life force within me is my supply.

I did two meditations this morning. One was my daily affirmation, and the other was one of my favorite meditations typically used for the summer solstice. What’s beautiful is both today’s affirmation, and the solstice meditation, had the same message of owning your power, being ready and accepting in the face of adversity, and knowing that your light not only shines within but outwards to others. Our lights inspire us to change as well as the people around us.

I can feel myself changing, deeply. I’m growing stronger day-by-day traveling through Brasil. I’m learning from people and things all around me. I’m loving more freely, not just in my relationships but also in my friendships. And overall, I feel like this change, while not always comfortable, is empowering and pushing me to be a better thinker, writer, leader, partner, and human being.

The change that I feel is inspired by the power of the life force within me. I recognize that I attract the rewards and challenges that enter my life. But both are for the purpose of making me stronger, so I say acknowledge and accept the lessons when they feel good and bad. I am thankful.

Day 33 – I am connected to limitless abundance.

I woke up this morning clear about all the things I truly desire for my career and lifestyle. Throughout this series, I’ve shared some of the ups and downs of Corset’s production process, some of my insecurities, and some of my strength. Yet through it all, I love this publication more than anything I’ve ever done in my career, and have dedicated myself to ensuring our audience continues to grow. But I also know that I’ve been putting off writing my book for months for several reasons. Primarily, I needed to detox from working non-stop in jobs I never really wanted and never taking the time to get to know myself after a whirlwind experience of living abroad in Europe, graduating, and falling out of love. Brasil gave me the opportunity to “do” the “work” and see myself in the new. As a result, I’m now ready and writing steadfast to finish my manuscript and book proposal. If I had my ideal lifestyle, I’d run Corset and be an author full-time living in a beautiful non-American country in a gorgeous house surrounded by nature and/or a beach with someone I love and who loves me deeply. We’d be healthy, happy, progressive, and productive. We’d nurture each other’s growth, and love each other fiercely. And all of the things that we’re connected to career-wise would benefit from that love. What’s so beautiful about that vision is that the universe has already shown me that it’s indeed possible, and perhaps even closer than I originally expected. Corset, Issue 2, is well on its way, as well as the production of our new website. I am finally working on my book, and being surrounded by nature in Alto Paraiso has only catalyzed my work ethic. And I am attracting love from just about every man I meet. Yet only one has captured my heart’s attention in a more than special way. While I am excited to share myself and learn from the various men that have entered my life, I am looking forward to the possibilities with this one person, not in an anxious way but rather just to see if indeed he might be the progressing answer to a long-time prayer. This is abundance.

Day 32 – My soul the source and substance of all the good I attract and give.

What a night. I arrived in Alto Paraiso around 1am with no cabs in sight and pitch black covered forests and mountains all around me. Thankfully, I wasn’t the only one. I met a guy from Chile who was also planning to stay out here for a few days, and together we managed to catch a ride with a young Brasilian couple headed to the neighboring town of St. George. What pursued was a crazy night, including fast asleep hotel owners who weren’t answering their doors and one that originally answered his door, quoted something a bit steep, and then when we returned to take his offer ten minutes later because we couldn’t find anything else, he wouldn’t answer his door again.  Exhausted, I sat and figured worst-case scenario, I wouldn’t be sleeping that night and rather practicing my Spanish camping out with this guy on someone’s lawn furniture. But luckily, as usual, a bunch of hippies saved the day.

We ended up spending the night on a mattress in their living room, free of charge, and accompanied by 60s old school jams, rock music, a bunch of weed (I still don’t smoke), guitars, and jewelry crafting. I found it quite hilarious at the time, and was just thankful to have a shower after over 24 hours of traveling on the bus from Sao Paulo to Brasilia to Alto Paraiso. Regardless, we found a beautiful pousada in the morning for a much better price. And now I am comfortably meditating and looking forward to the rest of my journey. I have to say; the universe once again has proven to put the right people at the right time in my life. To have the Chilean guy as my temporary travel partner (he woke up this morning, and did all the work to find our pousada while I slept) and the hippies’ kindness save me from sleeping outside, all the good I’ve done in the past clearly has come back and manifested itself when I needed it in reciprocation. The adventure continues….

Day 31 – Nothing but flourishing, consistent abundance.

I am grateful for many things today. As I sit in this bus terminal awaiting my connection to Alto Paraiso, I can’t help but think how blessed I am to have the traveling life I do, growing career, incredible friends, and consistent lovers bringing so much affection, tenderness, and understanding to what I go through on a day to day basis. The universe has been plentiful in providing me with so many things to be grateful for and even as I yearn for more and faster progress, I know that all things will occur in due time. In due time, all desires come full circle. Alto Paraiso here I come.

Day 30 – I put my faith within as the only source of prosperity.

Today is the day that I leave Sao Paulo and continue my journey traveling Brasil. I’ll be heading up to Chapada Veadeiros to spend some time in the mountains and close to a plethora of beautiful waterfalls. I’m looking forward to it immensely as I’ve been living in some of Brasil’s most popular cities for the last four months. I’m ready for some serenity and time to think before returning to Bahia to see my friends and extended family. Additionally, this will give me time to really finish this affirmation/mediation series strong and prepare for the release of Corset’s second issue. I don’t know how long I’ll be staying, but I am praying that I receive powerful creative inspiration from being surrounded by nature to propel me to write and finally finish my book proposal. I’m excited and ready for the next leg of my journey.
